Why Love Story Labradoodles
Why not? Look how cute they are!
Love Story Labradoodles are raised to be confident, loving, healthy and happy puppies so that they can go to their forever homes and be the best dog they can be. We do breed for a good temperament, and therefore parents are chosen carefully.
Right from birth the puppies are given the best care and all the love in the world. They are raised initially in a private room, and when ready moved into the general household environment where they experience all usual household sounds and scents. The puppies are also introduced to other noises such as thunderstorms, traffic, tools and much more. They also get introduced to the rest of the family including Candy the cat (who thinks she is a dog) and our five adult dogs.
At around five weeks of age, the puppies are introduced to the yard and the joys of outside. The puppies are socialised from an early age where they are introduced to various people of all ages, sizes and genders. Early socialisation is important for each puppy to help them grow into confident and well adjusted dogs. The puppies take trips in the car, to the local police station and shops. Of course, they are not put on the ground where other unknown dogs have access to.
As the first 10 weeks are so important to a puppy’s development, we do keep them with their litter till they are ten weeks old. This is a really important time in their life, and we aim to give them all the tools they need for a good start in life in a relaxed and safe environment. This includes teaching the puppies to sit, lie down and we also start toilet training.
The first fear period in a puppy occurs at around 8-10 weeks of age. Traumatic experiences or a single scary event may be enough to traumatise a puppy which could then have lifelong effects on their future. Keeping them with their litter during this period can help set them up for success in becoming the best dog that they can be.
